26 Years Instructor
Bill Pitcher is a career law enforcement officer
having spent over 34 years in state and local
agencies. Though retired from full-time work, he
still spends a couple days a week with a local
agency serving, among other duties, as a firearms
instructor.
Bill has been a Police Firearms Instructor since
1985, when he was a New York State Environmental
Conservation Officer. Throughout his 26 year career
with that agency, he was a line instructor, range
officer, and senior firearms instructor. He planned
and/or presented programs for officers of his own
agency as well as other state, local and federal
agencies. Among other duties, he was the lead
instructor for several Police Firearm Instructor
courses; many force-on-force training courses as
well as train the trainer courses. He also served
as the lead instructor for the firearms portion of
several basic police schools both for his agency and
others.
With the advent of the New York State Security Guard
program, he became certified and taught all the
basic security training and firearms for another
local government entity. |
