History

The OC Pepper spray training course was established by NEA Training Center to provide increased officer safety, Increase Officer Knowledge & Abilities and Reduce Risks associated with the use of force and the officer's duties.

 

The OC Pepper Spray course is provided per the manufacture guidelines. All instructors are certified by the manufacturer and provide real world experience to the student.

Course Overview

The student will acquire a general working knowledge of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Aerosol Projectors, both technically and tactically, providing them with the skills necessary to carry and use on duty.

Prerequisites: All students must be a sworn law enforcement or correctional officer, federal agent, a state licensed security officer, or active military personnel. These courses are not available to civilian or private personnel. Each attendee must be physically fit for duty and able to perform the physical skills associated with tactical applications with the use of Oleoresin Capsicum.

  • Deployment and Tactics

  • Use of Force and Legal Limitations

  • Practical Scenarios

  • Safety

  • Contamination with OC (All students will be exposed to OC as part of the training course)

Prerequisites

  • Proof of profession, i.e. law enforcement, peace officer or security licensing

  • Photo ID

  • Student must read, write and comprehend the English language;

  • No Eye Surgery within the 12 Previous Months

  • No medical or physiological conditions limiting abilities to participate in training

  • No Previous convictions for any violent behavior or domestic abuse
